Traditional vacuum packaging is called a face blister, with various shapes of plastic on the front and cardboard on the back. The plastic blister is fixed on the front of the cardboard to accommodate and protect the product.

A typical blister packaging typically consists of two parts:

Bubble cover: It is a molded transparent plastic shell that serves as the main body of packaging, used to hold and display products. Common plastic materials include PET, PVC, PP, PS, etc.

Bottom/cover material: usually paper card, can also be made of aluminum foil or another plastic sheet. It covers the back of the blister and is tightly bonded to the blister through heat sealing, glue, or staples to seal the product inside.

What products are suitable for vacuum packaging?

Some products that usually use bubble wrap packaging include consumer electronics such as batteries, USB drives, headphones, small speakers, mobile phone accessories, toothbrushes, etc.

Medical equipment: syringes, surgical knives, pills (blister packaging), cotton swabs, etc., sterile is required.

Toys and stationery: small toys, models, pens, erasers, paper clips, strong glue, etc.

Hardware tools: screws, blades, drills, small wrenches, etc. Cosmetics: lipstick, eye shadow, cosmetic brush, etc.

Food: Some candies, pastries, and fresh fruits are also used.

The function of vacuum packaging is to protect the product. If the shape of the product makes certain parts vulnerable to damage, then vacuum packaging can provide protection that bags or boxes cannot provide. Bubble wrap packaging can also keep products clean and uncontaminated, which is why they are almost always used to package pills. They also have tamper proof features, which you can clearly see from the damaged packaging.

The production process of vacuum formed packaging

The production process of blister packaging can be divided into two parts: the production of blister shells and the production of paper cards, and finally the two are combined together.

Plastic suction shell is a transparent plastic cover (made of materials such as PVC, PET, PETG, PP, etc.), usually made using the "vacuum forming" process. After modeling, heating and softening, vacuum forming, cooling and peeling, punching and trimming, etc., a suction plastic shell is formed.

The paper card is the colored printed cardboard behind it, carrying all the product information and brand design.

Usually, materials such as copperplate paper, white cardboard, gray paper, etc. are used. After printing and surface treatment, they are combined with the blister shell through high frequency hot pressing, nailing, or gluing to form a complete blister packaging.
